A Quiet Bond - Icelandic Pony and Skewbald

Some of the most beautiful moments with horses are the quietest. During a photoshoot, I was fortunate to witness Hind, an Icelandic Pony, and Amber, a Skewbald horse, sharing a peaceful moment of mutual grooming - a simple gesture that speaks volumes about trust, friendship and companionship.
I wanted this painting to capture not only their distinctive markings and gentle expressions, but also the calm atmosphere surrounding them. Through soft, layered PanPastels and a painterly approach, I sought to convey the warmth, tenderness and natural harmony of the scene.
This painting is a celebration of the special bonds that develop between horses and a reminder that some of the most memorable moments are found in the quiet interactions that often pass unnoticed.
