"  Having a passion for horses since childhood, I have a compulsive desire to paint them. I'm inspired by the graceful shapes that they create, light and shade, and I see a whole variety of colours in their coats. Having owned several horses and competed in dressage I understand the conformation and movement which gives a horse its character and gracefulness .

Dogs have been a part of my life since childhood so I completely understand their different characters, their loyalty and their ability to give us unconditional love - which you can see in their eyes and the enthusiastic greetings they give us when we get home    "

              _______________

I am an established professional UK based animal portrait artist, I accept commissions for pet portraits. I have also sold many horse and dog paintings.

I am an Associate Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and have exhibited twice in their Annual Horse in Art Exhibition.  I also have Horse Paintings for sale.

My painting style is a blend of impressionism and realism and my aim is capture character, likeness and movement. I've owned dogs in the past and several horses on and off over the years and specialised and competed in dressage, so I understand the anatomy and the importance of conformation of horses well, so I can portray the subject faithfully.

Cockapoo Dog Portrait

I have completed many commissioned dog portraits over the years.

A dog portrait makes a fabulous gift or memorial portrait.

To get a portrait of your dog painted simply send me some photographs and we can discuss your requirements, whether you want a head portrait or full body, framed or unframed.

I can also put 2 or more dogs in a portrait .

Horse Portrait

A horse portrait makes a fabulous gift or memorial portrait.

To get a portrait of your horse painted simply send me some photographs and we can discuss your requirements, whether you want a head portrait  with or without bridle, or full body, framed or unframed, visit my horse gallery for examples.

I can create a painting of horse and rider, performing dressage, jumping or eventing, or simply standing with your horse.

Purchasing a Painting

I have sold many horse, dog and cat paintings over the years and have had work re-sold on through fine art galleries. I now usually sell through online galleries. You can purchase directly from me, or through my galleries on Art2Arts or ArtGallery.co.uk

I have sold many horse dog and cat paintings over the years. I started off on Ebay, and have had work re-sold on through fine art galleries. I now usually sell through online galleries and you can purchase my work either through my galleries on Art2Arts or ArtGallery.co.uk, and through social media (links above).

These paintings are all created and inspired by photographs I have taken myself for the purpose of painting. Some are from photoshoots I have done for horse, dog and cat owners for a commissioned portrait, and some are from photographs I have taken at horse shows, friends' own stable yards, and friends' dogs and cats.

Many of my artworks are pastels, but some are oils on canvas and occasionally I have used acrylic or mixed media. I have a passion for dressage and dressage horses, but enjoy painting any horse dog or cat and it's a privilege to make a living from a combination of commissions and sales of my artwork.

* please contact me to discuss a commissioned portrait and likely timescale*
