Roxy was commissioned as a gift, and it was a real pleasure to bring her personality to life in PanPastels. While looking through the reference photographs, one image immediately stood out. Her slight head tilt, attentive expression and beautifully soulful eyes created a natural connection with the viewer that I knew would translate into a compelling portrait.
Capturing those expressive eyes became my main focus, while the warm chestnut and white tones of her coat provided a lovely contrast and allowed me to explore the soft, painterly qualities of the medium. The finished portrait reflects not only Roxy's likeness but also the gentle, affectionate character that made her so special.
