Me And My Shadow - Grey horses Painting

Sometimes the most memorable photographs are the ones you weren't expecting to take. While photographing one horse for a commissioned portrait, I captured this gentle moment between two field companions. Their quiet friendship and natural closeness immediately inspired me to paint them.

The larger horse, a beautiful dapple grey Arabian, stands alongside his Welsh Pony companion, their relaxed posture reflecting the trust and companionship they share. By simplifying the original background and introducing a more painterly landscape, I wanted the viewer's attention to rest solely on the relationship between the two horses.
